PHILARTS 1 | PHILIPPINE ARTS AND CULTURE. Approaches and issues in Philippine Arts and Culture. PHILARTS 1 seeks to deepen the studentsā understanding of the interrelationship of life and art practices in everyday life. It examines the valuations of Philippine art in relation to cultural practices and social processes in various communities and thus broaden the conception of art in the context of societal changes. SCIENCE 10 | PROBING THE PHYSICAL WORLD. Understanding the origin of the universe, synthesis of the elements, formation of the earth and the various critical issues affecting our worldview and our planet. SCIENCE 10 combines essential concepts and principles of physics, chemistry, and earth science to impart a concise understanding and means to understand the structure and dynamics of the physical world across a wide range of space and time scales. This course gives due attention to the place of humanity in the physical context. Through various physical concepts in physics, chemistry, and earth science, SCIENCE 10 intends to situate the student in the context of the changing universe, and to emphasize the impact and interconnectedness of human activity on the various physical phenomena that confront human beings and their surroundings.
