
The Philippine Regulatory Commission announced last October that 496 out of the 1,101 examinees (45.05 %) passed the Chemist Licensure Examination held on October 9-10, 2018.
The Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines Los Baños garnered a passing rate of 88.57 % (31/35), next to UP Diliman’s 92.19 % and higher than that of UP Manila’s 87.50 %.
Melvin A. Castrosanto, a BS Agricultural Chemistry graduate (cum laude) and currently an Instructor of the Institute of Chemistry - UPLB ranked 5th in the said examination with a rating of 87.45 %.
For the results of the Chemical Technician Licensure Examination, 24 examinees from UPLB passed the exam. Among the successful examinees were three alumni of the Institute of Chemistry.
