IC graduates hailed topnotchers in the 2019 Chemist Licensure Examination

Among the 457 passers of the recent Chemist Licensure Examination held on October 8 and 9 2019, Andrew Exequiel S. Tabilog topped the list with the rating of 92.25 % while Gerry Mark S. Gubantes got the 2nd Place with his score of 89.65 %. Both Mr. Tabilog and Mr. Gubantes are BS Chemistry (cum laude) graduates from the Institute of Chemistry, CAS, UPLB. 

In addition, UPLB was ranked second best performing school with a passing rate of 88.52 %. The list of successful examinees from UPLB included members of the IC faculty namely, Mark Louis Alvarez, Angela Kaye B. Garcia, Joshua P. Gemperoso, Cesar G. Quizon Jr. and James Aaron Rolando C. Santiago. Last year three faculty members also passed the Chemist Licensure Exam namely Arnoldus M. Mangao, John Bryan C. Rolloque and Melvin A. Castrosanto (5th Placer). 

This year’s licensure examination for chemists passing rate of 42.12 % is the lowest in the last 5 years, with only 457 passers out of 1,085 takers.
